It is Sunday morning in Lucence. I am sitting on my study desk facing my mac laptop writing this journal. The big window at my room balcony picture the snowy Mt Pilatus siting on a the great lake. I saw birds flying across the lake. The weather is gloomy today. The scenery here is so white compared to the green in Singapore.
My roomie is still lazing in his bed. We got to go for brunch in 15 minutes. He's like a lazy pig. sigh.
I reckon there is no chance to go to town today as I have to hand up my dissertation proposal tomorrow. I think I need to get myself a pillow, a spoon and some food. It is very cold here and I kept feeling hungry. I think I should be getting very fat by the time I went back to Singapore.
Here is really quiet. It is like out of the world. No one disturb. Indeed a good place to study and retirement. Back to the very simple basic life. Good morning Luzern! The view from my room is splendid and with the mountains greeting me, I ran out of my room to take picture despite of the cold.

Its 9:21am in Switzerland and I am waiting for brunch at 11am. The weather is good with adequate sunlight and breezy wind. Temperature is -7 degree c. diaoz. Lucky my room is well heated or else I will have a hard time adjusting to the weather here. Last night was my first night in Switzerland and I had a good sleep. I guess it was because of the tiredness from the long flight.
Last night before sleep, my classmate came to my room for a short chat. After short chat, he went out w my roommate for a smoking session. They came back with piles of books which they took it from donation boxes. They took one for me when they knew that I am opting for events module. This a very kind gesture.
Later after brunch, I will be going to town!

This trip is an eye opening experience for me. I feel that I have learned more about life and myself during 3 weeks oversea. London is very much different from what I have imagined. Seeing Donovan and Peijun again was something I anticipating for long. I could not tell them how I miss them and the friendship between us is what I treasure alot. LIfe in Singapore without them with me was damn boring. This is the street of West Dulwich, and it is a pleasant thing to walk down the road. I love it so much that I would like to call it my home. 2 weeks in London, I took my pace slow and try to see and observe things that I have never before. I love Donovan's room, the view at night when we switched off light before sleep. The night clouds were so beautiful. I love the weather very much, it was so cooling then. Walking along West Dulwich, where they live was the most enjoyable thing esp going to TESCO. I still cannot forget West Dulwich which I hope to stay longer. Londoner live a quality life, where they understand the importance of organic food. Almost everything in their supermarket is organic, and the other factor worth mentioning is the way they do packaging. Honestly speaking, Singapore is still the best. Getting anything in Singapore is convienient and everything is systematic. Getting food which is so convenient in Singapore is often taken for granted. In London, and Italy, finding food to eat was unneccesary troublesome. Asking me where would I want to live, I would still want to be Singapore but I would love to stay in other countries for a year or so. I really enjoy London although I have to cook my own meals but its fine with me. If I were to go Switzerland for a year next year if everything goes according plan, I believe my Switzerland life would be fruitful and easier because this trip. I have to appreciate life and live my life to fullest. I will learn to cook and take care of myself better now or else in Switzerland I will suffer. I would like to thank Peijun and Donovan for taking VERY GOOD care of me. They cooked for me almost every meal. And I truely enjoy watching them cooked. I have learned how to cook some of the dishes that they cooked for me. I miss Donovan's linguine and PJ's honey mustard chicken leg/potatoes. See below, they were always busy during meals time because they need to feed me. Argh~ Every meal together was like a reunion dinner. Sitting, eating and talking. Whats more enjoyable than to spend quality time with good friends? Below was the picture that we took together in Heathrow Airport where they sent me off. Argh, last picture taken in London.....

I am back after 3 weeks in London, Rome, Venice, Bath and Doha. I have learnt alot from this trip. I also realise alot of things that I have never thought of before. I seen things better than before too.
Too tired to blog about my trip. Maybe after recovering my jetlag problem and finishing school report first.
I am supposed to fly back to SG from London Via Doha, Qatar but now I am in the hotel Al freet due to the misconnection of Qatar Airway. The flight from London was delayed for 3 hours and by the time I reached Doha, my next connecting flight had already flew. Qatar Airline arranged me to stay 1 night in Doha. Its 48 degree C over here! Its crazily hot. I felt as I was in the oven when I went out for a walk. Now I am told that there is no more seat available for me from Doha to Singapore. QA wants to send me to HONGKONG! And from there, fly me to Singapore. QA doesnt know if there is available seat in HongKong or not. Which means I am going to be stucked in Hongkong next~!! I am going to sick of flying soon. Its boring to stay in Doha. I am alone....nothing to do, no one to talk to. I was so excited when I flew alone to London 3 weeks ago. Thought it would be fun travelling alone. I must remember this very day. Its an overwhelming experience, testing my skill of surviving alone in foreign land. Actually I am quite calm when everything had happened. I am tired but I did not show my frustration to the authorities when they put me this arrangement. I saw the rest of passengers yelling and screaming. I understand what they were going through. This did not feel good. Now I am waiting for the time to pass, waiting for the time to go airport and catch my flight to HongKong. Wonder when will I able to reach SG. UPDATE I am back in SINGAPORE! The journey was long, each way was 11 hours+ on the coach and ferry. Laguna Redang seaview room is good and spacious. The fun part were the 2 snorkelling trips where school of fishes swarm across right in front of me. There was a man feeding the fishes and FISHES swarm towards him. I was just beside him, and the scene was magnificent. That gentleman was very kind, he gave me some of the bread to feed the fishes. Ha, I always met kind people who willing to share their joy with me. Finally, I have visited the More More Tea Inn. I love the beach, its crystal clear water and white sandy sand. In the hotel room, there is a channel playing the movie, Summer Holiday for 24 hours everyday. We went squid jigging on our 2nd night there. It was fun catching the squids. The boat ride was a test of endurance. Many of the girls felt seasick on board and vomited. Feny caught the most while we guys caught nothing. No luck! After the jigging activity, we asked the restaurant to cook the squids for us. Eating our delicious catch was enjoyable. The famous More More Tea. The sunrise was very beautiful. On our way back to Singapore, we had to take a ferry ride. That ride was tedious for many of the passengers as the water was choppy. I saw many of the girls vomited, and some guys too. I could see the agony on their face. I do not have any motion or seasickness. No matter how big the wave is or bumpy the ride is, I will still be fine. I guess I am a lucky one. It was an enjoyable trip travelling with Brandon, Khet, Glenn, WeiChing, Irene, Sujan and Feny. Pity the ladies for throwing up on board when out for squid jigging. Maybe we shall not travel to place that needs to take a boat ride. Our next destination shall be Bali and Surabaya, to attend Feny's wedding. Looking forward to that. =) | Guestbook | |
